Youth Conference
HIV Positives between 15-25 years
Friday, 13. march 2009 in Aarhus, Denmark
Aarhus Universityhospital, Skejby
Auditorium B, entrance 6
Dear friends and colleagues
We are pleased to invite you to the Youth Conference to be held in Aarhus, Denmark, for, with and about young hiv positive people.
The aim of the conference is to bring young hiv positive people together across borders and give them opportunity to network in a nice and friendly atmosphere focusing on their mutual and special situation - living with hiv. The Youth Group of Denmark has made a program that focuses on physical, mental and social health of young people with hiv.
Key staff, nurses and doctors will be invited as it is important that they learn and hear about young peoples needs. Participants between 15 and 18 years are expected to travel together with a key worker.
The conference will take place at Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby and we offer accommodation within 5 min. walk from the conference site for our participants from abroad. The place of accommodation is also the place for the conference dinner and networking Friday evening. We suggest that partcipants from abroad arrive on the 12 March and stay until the 14 March to have time to settle in. We can offer accommodation for about 20 people. We expect 70 young hiv positive people and 30 key staff/nurses/doctors to participate the conference.
This invitation covers accommodation and meals but not travel expenses to and from Denmark as well as travel insurance, health insurance and pocket money.
We suggest to make a joint application from each country to a local pharmaceutical company or other foundations.
Participants are expected to understand spoken English which is the conference language.
For further information, please contact the key persons in the Youth Group of Denmark (see contact detalts below).
This conference is sponsered by The Danish National Board of Health, The AIDS Foundation and several pharmaceutical companies: Glaxo Smith Kline, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Gilead, Bristol-Myers Squibb.
The conference takes place in Aarhus, which is located in the middle of Jutland. The closest airport is Tirstrup, Aarhus Airport. The train station is situated 20 min. by bus from the conference site and 10 min. by taxi.
Deadline for registration is the 15. January 2009.
We are looking forward to welcoming you the conference.
