Welcome
Dear user of this website
At the World AIDS Day on 1 December 2008 we launched a website dedicated to young people between 15 and 25 years of age with HIV in Denmark.
The young people who have participated in the annual weekend trips for nine successive years have helped us realize what their life is like living with HIV. They have told us how we can help them in the best way and taught us “what works and what doesn’t”!
Young people today use the internet to search for information and to chat. We are happy to welcome the young people, their parents, foster parents, friends, partners, healthcare professionals and other interested at the website.
We will do our best to update the website with the most recent knowledge, news and to answer questions.
If you have any good ideas to improve the website, please get in touch.
Best regards
Lotte Rodkjaer and Tinne Laursen
About the Group of Young HIV Positives
|
The Group of Young HIV Positives addresses HIV positives between 15 and 25 years of age.
The Group of Young HIV Positives was established in 2000 at Aarhus University Hospital, Skejby as the staff saw the need for creating a place of refuge for young people.
The most important activity of the Group of Young HIV Positives is the annual weekend trip where participants are updated on HIV, have the possibility to share experiences with other young people in the same situation and get help to tackle problems related to living with the disease.
The weekend is a good opportunity for participants to give secrets a break, to create new friendships without hiding an important aspect of their life - living with HIV.
At this website you can read more about the Group of Young HIV Positives, about the annual weekend trip, the book "Young people with HIV" and much more.
Use the menu at the top to navigate the site.
We hope you will benefit from the information! |
